Customer LoginsCongratulations 2012 Polk Inventory Efficiency Award winners!
It was my pleasure to co-present the Polk Inventory Efficiency Awards last night at the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) along with my colleague, Mark Seng. We honored two outstanding aftermarket companies for their process improvements relative to inventory and supply chain efficiency.
This year's Inventory Efficiency Awards competition was one of the closest yet. Over the past eight years, we've recognized some truly great companies that have created outstanding results for their shareholders, customers and supply chain partners. This year was no exception.
Congratulations go to this year's winners, The Timken Company and Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance. These are two innovative companies that are helping to reinvent the way the automotive aftermarket conducts business through the use of analytics.
Inventory management continues to be one of the biggest challenges facing the aftermarket industry. Whether it's high levels of excess inventory, the inefficiencies of the supply chain, variations in repair rates, the complexity between parts and the vehicles they fit, and the monster we all know as parts proliferation, the challenges are formidable.
This year's winners conquered these challenges by demonstrating a positive and profound impact on inventory efficiency. They join the 13 other honorees who have received this recognition since the award was introduced in 2005.
