Customer LoginsRussian EV parc currently at level of 3,600 units
[Excerpt]
There were a total of just 3,600 electric vehicles (EVs) in the entirety of Russia as of 1 January 2019, according to a the analytic agency Autostat, whose data was published in a Skrin newswire report.
Significance: The data indicate that EVs accounted for less than 0.01% of the overall Russian market by the end of 2018. The biggest region in terms of EV registration is the Primorsky Krai region, which encompasses the Eastern port city of Vladivostok. This would imply that many of the 735 vehicles in question are unofficial imports from Japan. The next most populous area was the city of Moscow with 405 units. There is very little demand for EVs in Russia as there are no government support programmes for their purchase, while infrastructure is also currently highly patchy.
